The Steppe of Tsagaan Asga : good pasture, crossraod of seasonal migrations, main arteria to Chinese Turkestan and one of the biggest concentration of archaeological monuments.

For the Bright Future of Mongolian Archaeology

In 2007 our team has remobed to Tsagaan Asga, Sagsai county, Bayan-Ulgii aimak. The site is one of the most important by his size and richness of different types of monuments.
The main goal is the same : Excavation of Pazyryk kurgans, but research of other types of monuments is consedered too. Among them tqo new type of monuments discovered during our recognition trips in 2004.
Only this year we had the opportunity to excavate some of them.
